Self Pride
Whether in this life or otherwise, I am not beyond the grasp of the Almighty. Ever more He holds me to account through my choices and decisions, the actions that show my true intentions, longings, and objectives. Was I motivated by self-centered pride? Are my merits fueled by self interests more than concern for others? Sometimes, the narratives as told by me or my fellowmen are masks that protect the nature only of the ego. Lord, help me to withdraw from the call of the flesh; of desires that serve only my own purposes, wants, and persistent longings. Let me hunger and thirst only for you. Bind my own naked ambitions for greatness and humble me. Cleanse me of all vices, addictions, unworthiness, and imperfections through your grace and mercy. Let me seek the things that are above, good, noble, and righteous. Expand the narrow spaces in my soul to attune to holiness. Change my heart, mind, and soul to want only you...
