The Year 101

 The month of February is ripe for celebration for a centenarian mother whose birthday reached over 100 years.  My mother lived to see the transformation of societies from agrarian co-ops to the complex human communities today.  Throughout the years, she remained a model for continuous learning as even age does not dampen her enthusiasm to reinvent herself.  

She is now into the Korean pop culture extolling the virtues of romance tele-series; amazed at the presentation of their cultural norms in a subtle and seductive way without any lewdness or assault to sensuality.  It reminded me of her passion in reading Mills and Boons romance novels when I was in my teens.  She has graduated from the well read but worn pocket books to the life like series of a tele-novela streamed from a subscription to rakuten.  Happy Birthday, mom!
