Roses of Summer
I like roses when these bloom in the summer early enough to greet me with their vibrant colors in May. Pink, red, salmon, yellow, and white blooms with its fragrance never fail to lift my spirits and brighten my day. My red brick house at the corner of the street shows its prodigious blossoms luring people to take a selfie here and there. I never ran out of compliments and the appreciation is framed in the moniker given to my home as the "Rose House" in the neighborhood.
Those were but a wisp of memory. This year 2025, the roses were uprooted because of a virus known as the Rose Rosette Disease (RRD). There was no cure for it and much as I mourned its loss, I am glad I enjoyed the beautiful times I spent caring for and admiring those roses. Click on photo below and follow the link to RRD.
