eus determined the center of the earth and marked it with an omphalos (conical shaped resembling a belly button). It is the place believed to be where Apollo will answer a question posted by the mortals once every 9th day of the month. Many people visited the Temple of Apollo (40,000) bearing gifts to obtain an answer to their query. Based on the value of the gift offered, it may be a simple yes or no response or a whole sentence.
We visited the ruins of this temple and Eleni showed us a reconstruction of what it would have looked like architecturally in the past. The people who believed in many gods according to their mythology is what St. Paul has to convince to accept only one God.
This is most challenging but with God’s hand on the plow with St. Paul nothing was impossible. It was true then and it is still true today. God’s promise is enduring and stands the same; resolute and unchanging even with the passing of time.
