ur tour bus driver Stamatis arrived at 8 am to pick us up at the Marriott for the day’s trip. Eleni gave us our cruise tickets, baggage tags, and health questionnaires for tomorrow. She is always ahead with the tour plans and it’s implementation.
“The future you designed is the one you will have but know when to change the course to achieve the ultimate goal.”
And what is the final goal and destination? To be in union with God together with the angels and saints. Nothing in life is more important than the salvation of one’s soul.
The drive from Athens to Corinth took 1.5 hours and Eleni entertained many lingering questions about the tour including her personal views on her beliefs and practices as a Christian Orthodox.
We stopped to see the Corinth Canal Crossing. This is where the Aegean and Ionian seas convened. It is a narrow strip of water (69 ft wide) and only small water vessel (yachts and small ships) may cross at a time.
Corinth is the wealthiest city in Greece. It is the most fertile agriculturally. St. Paul stayed in Corinth for 18 months while working to support himself. He was a tent maker and his craft afforded him the opportunity to live in this expensive city. While working for his food, he was feeding the gentiles with the food of the spirit.

e celebrated mass under the generous shade of a tree in Corinth. We all felt blessed to be part of this place which existed before the coming of Christ and through Christ illumined meaning even to the end of time.
Therefore, Jesus is at the center as in the stavros (cross). To the left of the cross - time unfolded before Christ (BC) and to the right of the cross continued after His death (AD). God is outside of time and history is really “His” story.
“Oh God, your name is high above the heavens and as deep as the blue waters beneath the seas. We worship and adore you as you are the one true God for all eternity.”
