At Day's End
“Be angry, and do not be willing to sin. The things that you say in your hearts: be sorry for them on your beds.”
Psalm 4:5 CPDV

When I lay my head in bed to sleep, Lord take away my bitterness, sorrows, and failings of the day. Let me slumber in peace as the day ends and fill my tomorrow with hope. Open my heart to contrition and my lips willing to forgive myself and others. Keep my mind clear of fear and anxiety that unresolved problems will overtake my balance. Help me to embrace thoughts only of what good you have showered me as I walked through the challenges; the strength and courage to do what is right according to your precepts. In your mercy, forgive me in my missteps and miscalculations. Lord, in my sleep cradle me in your loving arms.
