The Healer
“Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise.”
Jeremiah 17:14 NIV

Beside the still water and along the spreading trees, I contemplate on your grace, oh God. Many times I refused to open my hands to your favor and blessing insisting that what I have in this journey is sufficient. It is my pride that I stumble on; the mote that covers my eyes.
I burn with concupiscence upon the wayward call of this world lusting after its pleasure. I wanted to see the breadth of this earth and travel along the expanse of its weight. I hungered for more of everything that I already have; greedily feasting on its abundance. Yet my stomach remains hollow, my heart bereft of true emotions, and my spirit lay wasted.
I am mortally wounded and spiritually sick. I am in need of medicine, the kind that will refresh both my body and soul. You, oh Lord are the great healer. You restore my errant ways to rectitude. Your words open my blocked sinuses, and I can breathe again. Oh, breath of life harken to my pleading and work your way into my heart that I may feel real love. Turn on the light and illuminate my mind so that I may see the cobwebs of regret, failures, and wrongdoings that I kept hidden in the attic of my illusion. Guide my path as I regain my footing and lead me to your heart.
