What Gives Life Meaning?

“I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.” I also said to myself, “As for humans, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. Surely the fate of human beings is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath; humans have no advantage over animals. Everything is meaningless. All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. Who knows if the human spirit rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?” So I saw that there is nothing better for a person than to enjoy their work, because that is their lot. For who can bring them to see what will happen after them?”

The purpose by which I was conceived is the canvas where I draw life's meaning.  From the moment God shaped me in my mother's womb like putty and breathed life into me, my existence into this world began to weave its story.  I exist, I live because I have a purpose to fulfill far richer than the story I can tell about myself or what others deigned my story is.  God wants me to share in His divine life; to return back to His bosom beyond the earthly confines of my humanity.  I was created by God for himself out of love.  It is now my duty and responsibility to take this message of love so others may also reach the pinnacle of their earthly lives and find heaven's door.

Oh God give me the wisdom to discern my own purpose in life and not follow blindly earthly wiles.  It is easy to get lost in this thicket where everyone is looking and searching for some meaning to fill their lives with.  It is easy to disbelieve in the promise of eternal life because the spirit world is unavailable through the senses.  Only your spirit that is poured out into my consciousness can awaken my soul.  Your free flowing grace is my food that carries me through the next stop and the next station in life.  Feed me with your everlasting words and sing to me my life story that only you know so well.
