LGBTQ and God's Love
Lord, God you called everyone to love. The first commandment is "to love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. The second is to love your neighbor as yourself." Teach me to love without conditions. Teach me a love that is pure and chaste.
Love is not sex and intimacy is not a sexual act. Desire is not intrinsically evil but evil enters with willful choices to act on desires such as sex that are naturally and supernaturally against the purpose by which you designed it. Sin distorts perceptions and brings disorder to the natural harmony by which you created this world and each and everyone of your people.
Give me the eyes that see through the heart so instead of condemnation, I reach out with compassion. Help me to refrain from casting the first stone of judgment but with humility acknowledge that everyone has fallen short of God's glory.
