Covid - Sign of the Times

 Jeremiah : 29 : 11 - For I know the thoughts that I think over you, says the Lord: thoughts of peace and not of affliction, so that I may give you patience and an end.

In the midst of this raging pandemic, I thought about God’s wrath and just punishment.  Is this one of them?  Are we experiencing a pestilence brought about by sin the size of Sodom and Gomorrah? Is this the end of the rod that disciplines, corrects and sets the narrow rectitudes of judgment?

Then I came across this passage in the Bible and my heart stops.  God’s thoughts are inscrutable and unknowable but His words and promises are true.  He is in control.  I will turn my gaze heavenward and my lips shall glorify His name.  He is God, the creator of all things.  Nothing passes by without His knowing and even this Covid has its purpose under the heavens.
