Rules, Rules, Rules
Everywhere I go there are rules. What rules do I follow for good living? There are man made rules and there are God based principles. In the grand scheme of things, what I choose to follow and obey becomes my master.
If I feed into the lies in this world, I get consumed by it. If I follow the precepts and spiritual principles instituted by God Himself, I get what I cleaved to even when I don’t see its fruits readily. What I choose to follow and obey is my master.
When I became a child of God, the Holy Spirit also became my guide. I am able to see with discernment the lie from God’s truth and I become more and more aware of sin and it’s effect on people’s lives. I do not hate the sinners because though wayward in their thinking and action, they are children made in God’s image and likeness. I detest sin and its destruction and I flee from it.
I pray to you oh God, to help me preserve peace and to seek goodness and holiness even in the face of opposition, digression, and dissension. It is another lie to believe that this corrupt world will spawn only evil. You made the world for good but the corruption comes from within. There are children who seek the light, and those who run from it. It is the free will and the freedom to choose to obey good or evil that separate the wheat from the chaff.
Your rules establish order and guide my steps. I can try to ignore it, bury it deep in my subconscious, and pretend that it is not there. I can try to outrun it, rationalize with fancy legalism and sophistication, and use every human means possible to debunk it but I cannot destroy the truth in your words.
Your word, oh Lord is indestructible, incontestable, and immutable. Your words are everlasting and neither time nor the evolution of human knowledge can subdue and overcome. Your rules which are lettered into the very fiber of your words will either convict me or save me. It is my free will and its dispensation through thoughts, words, and deeds that will eventually seal my fate.
