Covid Fatigue
“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.”
Romans 12:12 NIV

I get it. Many people are getting tired of wearing masks or social distancing. They want to rewind time pre-pandemic. Life was difficult then but now seemingly bearable than what we have in front of us. Oh, if we could only wave a magic wand.
But we have to court patience rather than ire, blessing in its stead than curses. The pendulum swings both ways. Yes, things could be a lot better and it could be also a lot worse. I pray with all my heart for God’s mercy for I know this pandemic costs people their livelihood, their strength, and their very lives. I pray to the heavens for relief to those who are in mourning; burying their loved ones in haste without a moment’s pause, battling the challenges of living only to be mocked by more death and dying.
I don’t know how I can help the world that is in pain. I am but a drop of water in a vast ocean. But what I can do is to pray because prayer is the mother of a thousand blessings. I pray for deliverance from this pandemic. I pray for hope and a future gilded with the ray of the sun. I pray for mercy that bridles the tempest and cools the head fraught with anxiety. I pray for courage and fortitude to endure until the dark shadow of this affliction is put to rest. I pray for thanksgiving because I am assured of God’s promise. No matter what, God will always be here with us.
