Verdict
And this is the verdict, that the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed. But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.
JOHN 3:16–21
The verdict resounds that the work that I do exposes the contents of my heart. That there is deception that blinds my eyes is also into account because the evil done in secret lays hidden and obscure. The fruits of the work lays bare its source.
Sin is a roaring lion announcing its ferocity. The humble heart is meek and does not publish its gentle ways. It is like a quiet brook, meandering through with very little notice. Yet it is good that trumpets its light and shatters darkness.
Holy Spirit, I pray for the gifts of knowledge and discernment that I may know good apart from evil. That I may avoid the seduction of sin and seek only the path that leads to eternal life. That I may live without the fear of death in the company of God’s angels and saints.
