God’s Voice
“The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning. The voice of the Lord shakes the desert; the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord twists the oaks and strips the forests bare. And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”

Where do I hear God’s voice but in the quiet stillness of my heart bereft of distractions and noise? His voice is gentle yet firm, merciful and loving. He speaks to me through the Bible as I meditate. He coaxes me to open my heart and mind to the gifts of the Holy Spirit so that I may understand. He leads me to think, speak, and act with a spirit filled disposition, wary of boasting nor self-importance. He wants me to tell the story that is in His words.
Who am I but a servant, no more important than the passing wind? I am entrusted with this gift of the lettered words and so I may use it for His glory and His majesty alone. Use me oh Lord according to your purpose.
