Desires of the Heart
“Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

What is it that my mother and I pray for everyday? Peace, prosperity, protection, good health for everyone, complete healing of our sick ones, transformation, conversion, reconciliation, and regeneration. We pray for our family both living and dead by name through each bead of intention in the rosary and the chaplet of divine mercy.
We started this morning prayer at 5:30 am daily since her 96th birthday last year in 2020. It carried us through the pandemic and lifted our hearts and minds to focus on God’s salvific plan for humanity. It strengthened our resolve to trust only in God’s promises. It brought us to our knees at God’s loving kindness, mercy, and love.
Prayer changed us deeply. It opened our hearts to examine our internal desires. It allowed us to see things through the long lens of hope. It gave us courage to live life with purpose and intention. It saved us from our own misjudgments and miscalculations.
Oh merciful and loving God, open our hearts to desire only you. Let your blessing and grace follow us through our lives as we seek to know you and to do your holy will.
