Change

How I cling to despair so readily when things are out of kilter.  The constancy of the days are at once calming and lulling me to ignore change.  How I dread change.  Routine is common place and secure while change displaces me in my ordered scheme of things.  But there is only one anchor that can set me straight even in a tidal wave of change.  

Lord God you hear my cries.  I am broken hearted because there are many things out of my control.  Changes around me and within me that keep me tethered to despair and helplessness.  Order my life in spite of what’s going on.  You alone can save my drowning spirit.  The trouble is always there ready to snatch me to the fire.  Open my eyes and heart to see that you set things right every time.
