The Greatest Empire

 “Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.””

Which in history can you say is the greatest empire ever?  Since that Easter morn when Jesus rose from the dead, the fulfillment of the kingdom of God began to unfold.  The greatest empire that continues to exist today is neither confined by space nor time because it was built solidly upon the rock which the builders rejected and which became the corner stone.

By conquering sin and death, Jesus’ promise, “I will always be with you” stands true.  The body of Christ is in every church, in every holy temple, and in every tabernacle throughout the world.  It is in every heart, every mouth, every pair of hands that continue to be refreshed, revitalized, and renewed by the living Spirit.  Jesus is alive!  He is with us always and forever.
