Real Presence

 “Now while they were eating the meal, Jesus took bread, and he blessed and broke and gave it to his disciples, and he said: "Take and eat. This is my body." And taking the chalice, he gave thanks. And he gave it to them, saying: "Drink from this, all of you.”

I believe that the body and blood of Christ is present in the holy Eucharist because He says so.  When I receive communion, I observed that I am less inclined to entertain evil in my thoughts, words, and deeds. I am filled with a strength that is outside of myself to resist temptations.

I find no pleasure in secular shows because I cringe at the vulgarity, the curse words, and the story’s plot that often leads to untold misery.  I avoid reading materials that pollute my mind and bind my soul into a sinister bondage of spiritual slavery.  I don’t go to places where sin resides and my footsteps quicken away from danger.  I held my tongue to keep the peace.

None of these things I do on my own and my attribution belongs only to God’s saving power through the body and blood of Christ shed for me.  My Jesus is present in the holy Eucharist just as He promised.  He is with us until the consummation of time.  Lord Jesus, help me for I am a sinner.
