Power and Splendor
““Who is like you among the gods, O Lord — glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders? You raised your right hand, and the earth swallowed our enemies.”
Exodus 15:11-12 NLT

Power and splendor clothed you, oh my God and there is none like You. Both mercy and justice are your decrees and you use these accordingly. Pour your mercy on me. Oh my God help me for I am a sinner. Not a day goes by that I am not tempted to go against you and follow the ways of the world.
My temptation is loneliness, anxiety, and despair. It is occasions such as today when I feel the inner groaning of human companionship. I cry to you, my God spare me for these wants are not my needs.
You alone are the living waters that will banish my wanton desires. You quench my thirst and my soul is satisfied. You gird me up for battle to crush the enemy’s head. You are my rock and fortress; my shield from which I hide. I seek shelter under your mighty wings and you carry me far away from the destroyer.
Your awesome power confounds me and your love melts my hardened heart. I’ve seen battles in my lifetime some of which left me wounded and maimed. You restore me through your grace and you heal me from my pain. My lips praise and thank you because you love me so tenderly.
