King of the Jews

 “Now Jesus was standing before Pilate, the Roman governor. “Are you the king of the Jews?” the governor asked him. Jesus replied, “You have said it.””

Who is Jesus?  He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.  He is the Son of God made man.  He is fully human and wholly divine.  He is the Savior who took upon Himself human experience - to feel hunger, thirst, joy, and pain to save man from sin.

Man cannot save himself.  By the first sin committed, the relationship between God and man needed to be restored and only through the sacrifice of the One who is blameless and without sin.  Jesus is the promised Messiah fulfilled in God’s word as the lamb who laid His life down willingly so man may no longer be slave to sin. Through His sacrifice, He has conquered death so that we may live forever.

Who is Jesus to me?  He is the breath that gives life.  Without Him, my life will be meaningless and without purpose.  He is the friend who watches over me because He loves me.  He is the conqueror, protector, counselor, life-giver, Savior, and the Prince of Peace.  I seek Him from the depths of my being because He is the one true pearl in the field, the only treasure worthy of giving everything up to keep.  

Lord God please help me for I am a sinner.  I am not worthy.  Thank you for your unfailing love that covers the many transgressions I make.
