Ultimate Sacrifice for Love

 “But Jesus, hearing this, said: "It is not those who are healthy who are in need of a physician, but those who have maladies. So then, go out and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the just, but sinners."”

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that we may have life everlasting.  The ultimate price for man’s sin came from the sacrificial lamb Jesus.  When He died in our place to restore the enmity between God and man that sin brought, God showed His great mercy and love for humanity.

Almighty Father, thank you for the mercy and love you bestowed on all mankind so that we can be with You and share in your divine life.  We do not deserve this because we are sinners.  We are not fit to be in the presence of your holiness, in the company of your sinless nature.  Yet you moved towards us taking human form through your Son to save us.  What greater love is there?
