Turning Back
“Now when an unclean spirit departs from a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest, and he does not find it. Then he says, 'I will return to my house, from which I departed'. And arriving, he finds it vacant, swept clean, and decorated. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and live there. And in the end, the man becomes worse than he was at first. So, too, shall it be with this most wicked generation."”

When man turns back to his old life before he came to know God, he becomes even more spiritually bankrupt, worse than before. Why is that?
God is the living water and having tasted this fresh, cool spring, man feels alive. God who dwells in the hearts and mind of those who accept the grace of His unconditional love will never thirst.
When man falls back and repent, God forgives him not once or only for the less grievous offenses but every time he falls. It is only when he sins against the Holy Spirit which is the total rejection of God’s mercy, love, and forgiveness that the sin is not forgiven.
And that is when he becomes spiritually sick because as long as he remains in the state of sin, grace cannot enter his life. He is cut off from God and without God life has no meaning.
