The Name of Jesus

“And there is no salvation in any other. For there is no other name under heaven given to men, by which it is necessary for us to be saved."”

When I was baptized, I became a child of God.  My original sin was washed clean as the Holy Spirit guided my life.  I learned early on that this salvation is offered freely to those who believe in God and through His son Jesus.

I am thankful that I have this kind of upbringing because my life though punctuated by sadness, challenges, and pain never amounted to a life-changing misfortune.  It was as if Jesus was carrying the cross of life’s burdens along with me.  He was with me through it all.

Three months after my husband passed away, I decided that I was going to focus on my spiritual life.  I prayed to God to change my heart and to open my eyes to His real presence.  As I begin to know more about God, my sadness subsided and I began to live again.

I taught myself how to play the guitar two years ago.  I now sing praises to the almighty God for His faithfulness in delivering me even from soul crushing loss such as the death of my husband.  I am at peace knowing fully well that just as Jesus rose from the dead, I will also rise.  The fear of death has no power over me.  Death is the gate through which I must pass to be with God, His Ángels, and His saints.
