St. Augustine’s Prayer
“Sons of men, how long will you be dull in heart, so that whatever you love is in vain, and whatever you seek is false?”

The life of St. Augustine shows that there is nothing on earth that can truly satisfy us except God. We were made for God and we will continue to seek Him. It is when God is replaced by something else that we encounter this profound emptiness that cannot be filled with material possessions, fame or pleasure.
Oh, Lord “my soul is restless until it finds rest in you,” St. Augustine prayed. May this hunger for you lead me at your feet in surrender. Take me and use me according to your purpose. Jesus, I trust in you.
