I Dreamt of You
Two years after you passed, my mind was able to process that you are never coming back. I dreamt of you last night and I woke up with a deep sense that you are waiting for me. Time though is of the essence.
You were in this dream waiting for me at a grand celebration. We agreed to meet at the place of venue. I saw myself go through the motions of getting ready knowing you are waiting for me. I chose to wear a beautiful black dress. As I was ready to leave, I looked for my shoes and could not find them. Knowing how fastidious you are about dressing appropriately, I opted not to go and meet you because I could not find the shoes to wear. I knew you will be upset because I ghosted you but you will have been terribly more upset if I showed up not wearing the correct shoes. In my heart, I knew it was the right thing to do... not showing up.
And then, I woke up and I now know that you are still waiting for me as I continue to look for my shoes. When I am ready, I will meet you there. This time, I know you will wait for me no matter how long it took. Thank you.
