Time Heals

It’s a cliche to say that time heals all wounds.  There are wounds that remain non-healing, chronically challenging the body to maintain its own viability.  The more appropriate thing to say is that wounds even though non-healing remain manageable.

So life goes on in spite of the challenges.  I am very proud of how far our daughter and I traveled this journey together.  After losing you, we both began to assess where we were at that low point in life and where we would like to be.

One of the most important change we both embarked on was our physical transformation.  Throughout your illness when you became the focus of all our efforts, we both lost track of our physical health.  We decided to change our lives together and purposefully lost weight for the better.

We have each other to motivate and we are very successful.  An amazing combined loss of 55 pounds between the two of us, we both rediscovered who we were before your illness.  We both embraced who we wanted to be for the rest of our lives.  You would have been very proud of us.  More than anything, we are exceedingly proud of what we accomplished together.

Time gives us the opportunity to change.  Whether it is our physical health, our mental attitude, or our spiritual life, time affords us the setting to meet the challenges of transformation to make life meaningful again.
