Communion
"When you release them from the physical dimension, you can hold them close in a dimension no less real: the spiritual one. For even though they no longer walk beside you, they will be even closer. They will be within you. And you will not forget them, because you cannot forget them. They will be near to you as your own breathing, and as much a part of you as your own dreaming. They will exist in you as love." (Miller, 1995)
My story just began to unfold as I learned to release you from my hold. I am now in communion with you in spirit. Your thoughts became mine as your spirit found its dwelling place within me. What would you think? How would you act? What will you do? Often, you would be the conversation piece in our family conversation.
"Dad will like this. Do you remember how he enjoyed the Avatar? He will surely have loved to see the Black Panther." But you do live on because we find you in everything that we do. It is not just a remembrance of you, but the visible, and tangible ways you live through the things we begin to do because of you.
How you have graced our world and truly made a difference. Your life was not an accident but a careful and thoughtful way the Creator designed our lives --- forever joined in spiritual communion to be part of His family. Thank you, God!
