A New Direction
"As you realize that you cannot make it through this time by yourself, you can reach out to those sources of strength - and to that Source of strength - that have guided you before and that guide others now. In what seems like a static time, you will begin moving forward." (Miller, 1995)
It was a turning point in my life when I decided to go back to God for consoling that I was released from the prison of pain. I went back to church again and again seeking peace, atonement for guilt that I could not save you, and forgiveness for my own human frailty. Every night since January I have gone to evening Mass praying for your soul, your children's peace, and my own deliverance.
I began to sleep through the night without waking up in tears crying out your name. Instead, I began to dream about you. It was always a happy dream. You are in peace as I am. God has calmed the rough waters and the heavy winds of discord. Thank you, God!
