Christmas Eve
I woke up today with a different attitude. I started with a prayer that you always say, "thank you, God." I turned on the Christmas lights and looked for a lively music you always listened to. I chose an instrumental African dance music. Before long, I felt my spirit lifted and I became a new person.
I choose the attitude I wear everyday. Sometimes, it takes a little bit more energy and courage to go against the grain specially when the emotions are running amok. But I know I can change that not by "willing" myself to do something but by "going with the flow."
There are rhythms in life; some high and some low. Like the music, we learn to dance with it, balancing the steps, creating the passion, wrapping our arms to the tension and release it evokes, submitting our all to the pure enjoyment of the moment.
I am not alone. For a brief moment in time, we were dancing to this music, same as we always did in life. Thank you. Christmas is never far when it is closest to the heart.
