A New Beginning
Remember when I felt sad when I could not dream of you? Well, last night was the first dream I had with you. You were telling me how much better the basement will look and I can turn it into a living space. It was a sign from you that it was okay to let go of things you owned. You said it to me in love and with complete understanding. It is okay to let go.
So when I woke up, I went downstairs and neatly packed all your computers (7) into an empty closet. This was your life’s work and I will ask our son if he will use any of it. Since he is into computers, he will know how to unlock these electronic files and consign it to his possession.
I am so pleased with myself after looking back at the hard work I’ve just accomplished. I have accomplished the monumental task of identifying, categorizing, boxing, disposing, retrieving, and keeping the last vestiges of your earthly life. To live again, one must bury the dead with respect, love, and gratitude. Only then, can life begin in a different way.
